How to reach campus –from kottaym

By Bus- Alight at Manarcad or Puthuppally(both are 8 km).Then hire auto rickshaw

By train- Alight at Kottayam Railway station, Board busto Manarcad or Puthuppally-then by auto rickshaw to the centre

By aeroplane – Alight at CIAL and board any hired Taxi

2. Are PhD programs conducted? What are the disciplines offered?

Inter disciplinary –with emphasis on Biomedical research

3. Is there hostel facility for graduate students? Otherwise where do the students live to attend the classes & programs?

An eight room hostel facility is attached near the centre. Students can avail home stay/paying Guest accommodation, which is available  nearby

4. Is there a dispensary available for the students, or the inmates of the hostel?

A community Health centre  under Govt. of Kerala Health Department works 9 am to 2 pm with out patient facility and pharmacy

5 .What is the admission time of PhD/DSc program?

Students with JRF/SRF awarded by national  agency via DST, MHRD,DBT, CSIR. ICMR,AYSUH etc can apply any time to Mahatma Gandhi University for Ph.D registration

Students with National Eligibility  qualification students who pass the entance test conducted by MG university  can apply for PhD registration on the notification published by the university .Usually before 31 july every year

6.  Is IUCBR & SSH affiliated to any University?

Recognised by MG university Kottayam as a full time research centre and The senior  scientist /Faculty is the centre are recognised as Research Guide under MG University

7 .Is it possible to do project work in IUCBR & SSH, and if so, what are the formalities? Fee for the project work ?

Project  work for  under graduates and post Graduates  for a maximum  period of 3 months allowed  under the guidance of Senior Scientist / Faculty

Fees – Rs.1500/per month  for the students from colleges/institutions  affiliated to MG University

Rs.3000 per month for students affiliated to other universities

Fees can be remitted  bank transfer or direct at office.

8. Is there any training program conducted in IUCBR & SSH, fee structure?

Training course- As part of curriculum of BSc MLT,MMB, MBC maximum three month duration  – clinical posting .

Posting fee rs.350/month. Fees can be remitted bank transfer or direct at office.
