IUCBR & SSH Scholar Receives ANRF International Travel Grant to Present Research at Society for Neuroscience Conference

Chinthu V. Saji, a research scholar at the Inter-University Centre for Biomedical Research and Super Speciality Hospital (IUCBR & SSH), Mahatma Gandhi University, has been awarded a prestigious International Travel Grant by the ANRF (Anusandhan National Research Foundation, India). This grant will support her participation in the upcoming Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Conferenceto be held at San Diego, USA from November 15-19 2025, one of the world’s largest and most renowned gatherings of neuroscientists.

Chinthu will present her research on “Nanoformulated Asiatic Acid-Enriched Centella asiatica Extract Confers Neuroprotection by Targeting Oxidative Stress and Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Parkinson’s Disease.” Her work focuses on developing novel nanotechnology-based therapeutic strategies to address mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress, two major contributors to Parkinson’s disease progression. Chinthu V Saji is a research scholar under Dr. Rajesh A Shenoi, Senior Scientist at IUCBR & SSH

The study highlights the potential of Centella asiatica, a traditionally known medicinal plant, when formulated with cutting-edge nanotechnology, to serve as an effective neuroprotective intervention.
